How long will it take for the smell of drying coatings to disappear?

FAQ Details

Most of the smell is that of solvent evaporating from the finish as it dries. Over 95% of solvent evaporates during the drying phase from wet to touch dry, which is 3 hours in typical drying conditions. The balance evaporates as the finish fully cures and the rate is very dependant on the amount of ventilation present, and therefore as soon as the finish is touch dry replace the solvent stale air by opening all available ventilation (door windows etc), however ensure appropriate measures are taken top prevent any security breaches.
